How to add live falling-price drops to a Shopify store

The short answer

To add Freefall drops to Shopify, open Online Store → Themes → Customize, add a Custom Liquid section to the page you want, and paste your Freefall snippet. The drops render inside your theme and update live; shoppers lock and pay in a Freefall checkout window.

Embedding needs the Trader plan or higher. Every plan includes a hosted Freefall page you can link to from any site. Compare plans

Step by step

  1. Create your store and first drop. Sign up, create a store and add a drop with its starting price, floor and quantity. Connect your Stripe payout account so you can take orders.
  2. Allow your website's domain. In your console, open your store's Integrate page and add your website's address (for example https://yourstore.com) under Allowed origins. Drops only load on the domains you list. Add both your myshopify.com address and your own domain if you use one.
  3. Add a Custom Liquid section. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize. Open the page or template where drops should appear, click Add section and choose Custom Liquid.
  4. Paste the snippet and save. Paste the snippet from your Integrate page into the section, save, and preview the page. You'll see your drops falling live.

The snippet

Your Integrate page shows this with your store's key filled in.

<script src="https://freefallexchange.com/embed/v1.js" async></script>
<freefall-market store="pk_live_…" limit="6"></freefall-market>

Good to know

  • Freefall drops have their own quantity and don't change your Shopify inventory. Set the drop quantity to the stock you're putting into the drop.
  • Orders are taken by Freefall, not Shopify checkout. Fulfil them from your Freefall console, or use order webhooks to create them in your own systems.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Shopify app?

No. Freefall works with a snippet in a Custom Liquid section, so there's nothing to install from the app store.

Where do shoppers pay?

In a secure Freefall checkout window that opens over your page. Shoppers lock the price, pay with a saved card, and the order appears in your Freefall console. Paid plans can also send each order to your own systems as a signed webhook.

Will the embed clash with my theme?

No. It's a self-contained web component with its own styles, so your theme's CSS can't break it, and it picks up your store's accent colour.
